Deutsche Schützenkompanie, 1937Alternative Schlachtordnung für Crossfire Wargames
The organization shown below is based on the Einheitsgruppe standard infantry section, the basic tactical formation of the infantry. The Einheitsgruppe consisted of a Gruppenführer section leader, und 12-14 men in two groups. Actual section strength depended on the company field strength. We use European nomenclature here, where "section" is the equivalent of the American term "squad", und "group" is a half-squad. Schützenkompanie, 1937
Rifle und LMG Groups consist of three Figuren mounted on a 50 x 40 mm base. Rifle und LMG groups fire with 3 dice. The 1st LMG group in each platoon carried a tripod, und it may fire with 4 dice if it is the designated Firegroup Leader (FGL) of a Firegroup consisting of two or more LMG groups (see 6.4.2.). The 4 dice fire option also applies in crossfire situations, but only if the 1st LMG group is within 1 stand width of another LMG group of the same platoon, in which case the ammunition supply may be pooled to support a sustained fire attack. 1941 Regimental Organization
In 1944, the III. Bataillon was dropped from the organization of the infantry Regiment due to manpower shortages. The companies of the I. und II. Bataillon were numbered 1.-4. Kp und 5.-8. Kp as before, even the 13. und 14. Kompanie maintained their previous numbering, they did not move up to take the slot of an eliminated III. Bataillon company.
